About this role
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, 0101 Series. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Degree: Behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrate that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR Combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes I have one year of specialized experience as defined above equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes knowledge of social services delivery systems and concepts, principals, and theories relating to one or more of the social or behavioral science fields to assess needs and concerns of clients and help them to understand how certain behavior patterns/attitudes impact and affect their career, transition, relocation, and family situation and learn about their abilities, capacities, interests, and goals concerning their various work/life requirements.
OR EDUCATION: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100% FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
