Job Description: Join Job Duck as a Legal Assistant and play an important role in supporting immigration matters while helping clients navigate their legal needs with professionalism and care.
In this position, you will assist with case and client management, prepare immigration forms and legal documents, conduct legal research, and help ensure case packets are complete and ready for attorney review. You will also serve as an important point of contact for clients by responding to inquiries, managing communications, and helping coordinate appointments. Your work will directly contribute to the efficiency of the legal team while helping clients feel informed and supported throughout the legal process.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, adaptable, and committed to delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced legal environment. Monthly Compensation: 1,150 to 1,220 USD Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Respond promptly to client inquiries and appropriately triage client needs. Track case progress and ensure supporting documentation is properly maintained. Assist with client communications throughout the lifecycle of each case.
Draft legal documents, recommendation letters, and other supporting documentation. Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date case information. Follow attorney instructions and established legal procedures. Support administrative and legal operations as needed. Perform additional legal and administrative duties as assigned. Conduct case and client management activities using MyCase. Provide professional customer service through email and phone communications.
Answer incoming client calls and assist with appointment scheduling. Conduct legal research as assigned by attorneys. Draft immigration forms using Docketwise. Assemble complete case packets and submit them for attorney review. Requirements: • Full-time position Work schedule aligned with Pacific Time (PT) Experience in U.S. immigration law is preferred Previous experience working with legal case management systems is preferred Experience preparing immigration forms and legal documents is preferred Comfortable communicating with clients via phone and email Ability to work independently while following established procedures and attorney instructions Strong attention to detail when preparing case documentation and case packets Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally Portuguese knowledge.
