About this role
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of an extensive body of education rules, procedures, and operations to perform the wide variety of education technician work related to the College's mission and objectives, and to resolve a wide range of issues using accepted practices. Knowledge of the organization's operations and functions sufficient to evaluate information gathered from various sources and use basic analytical methods and techniques to determine adequacy of, or deficiencies in the scheduling function.
Knowledge of locally-established program objectives and practices requiring extended experience to initiate, plan, and coordinate interrelated technician activities. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations, retrieve and input data, and maintain accurate files. Knowledge of effective writing skills, editing practices, and application of communicate interpersonal skills are required to accomplish assigned responsibilities, which include writing reports outlining education program program operations and recommending improvements.
OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed graduate level education in a field directly related to this position which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
