The Trader I/II/Sr./Principal is responsible for managing and optimizing a natural gas trading portfolio with a focus on US East market, leveraging detailed market analysis, risk management, and execution of physical and financial transactions. The position requires deep knowledge of US East supply/demand dynamics, pipeline flows , and pricing hubs, along with strong quantitative and analytical skills to make disciplined decisions in fast-moving market conditions.
The trader partners closely with risk, operations, and commercial teams to drive profitability while adhering to firm risk limits and compliance standards. The Trader I/II/Sr/Principal responsibilities include but are not limited to: Initiate, develop and execute strategies to capture profitable term natural gas trading opportunities within the US East reg ion. Monitor and evaluate relevant market conditions, pivoting in/out of trades as necessitated by market conditions.
Evaluate existing trading processes and collaborate with trading personnel to improve efficiency, transparency and value-added measures. Evaluate, execute, and manage short and long-term storage positions across the US East , optimizing around seasonal spreads, and power and industrial load to create incremental value. Use experience to develop optimization and trading strategies and direct origination efforts to execute these strategies.
This role is expected to be able to clearly communicate summaries of relevant market conditions & opportunities upward within the organization. Primary responsibility for establishing and executing trading strategies to optimize the value of EQT's contractual pipeline capacity & storage assets. Required Experience and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination.
