Television Programming and Planning Specialist

About this role

You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Developing data-driven television programming strategies by analyzing Nielsen ratings, audience viewing patterns, and industry trends to inform program acquisition and scheduling for a global broadcast network. Executing multi-platform programming plans, from content acquisition and database management to tracking syndication feeds and digital rights for both linear satellite channels and the American Forces Network (AFN) Now streaming service.

Researching, selecting, and curating a wide range of U.S. television content, including news, entertainment, and specials, while collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure strategic goals and audience engagement are met. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
