Provide course descriptions as necessary. Specialized Experience Requirement: For the GS-13: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as three or more of the following: Manages national Law Enforcement and Investigations LMR systems by developing strategies for system sustainment and providing expert guidance on policy and network requirements; and/or Develops and implements secure digital P25 and encrypted communication plans that support multi-agency law enforcement operations; and/or Plans, analyzes, and optimizes LMR infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure mission-critical communications for law enforcement personnel; and/or Resolves radio interference issues, conducts coverage assessments, and applies strict information security practices to safeguard sensitive communications; and/or Provides expert consultation in determining radio communications policy and establishes departmental views, positions, and recommendations concerning frequency management to support nationwide law enforcement communication needs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
