Technician - Defence and Vehicle Operations
About this role
Purpose Automotive technician required to work on a variety of vehicles to a high standard. Preparing prototype vehicles to collect various data throughout a full range of tests. Role is based in the main UTAC workshop and day-to-day tasks will also include carrying out repairs, fault finding, servicing, vehicle inspections and diagnostic checks. Technicians are also required to remove all types of vehicle components to strip inspect and report findings via written or verbal communication.
Responsibilities Light vehicle repairs and general servicing HGV, Bus/Coach repairs and general servicing Vehicle fault finding Carry out start and end of test preparation on various test vehicles to test specification. Diagnostic checks using various equipment Conduct test vehicle measurements Complete work tickets with detailed written report on work actioned Liaise with supporting staff, engineers, supervisor and customers on a technical level Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times Qualifications Formal automotive / engineering qualifications Completed full automotive apprenticeship (preferred) Experience: Excellent Automotive background and knowledge Some motorcycle experience (not essential) Advantageous Qualities: Experience with EV and Hybrid vehicles Vehicle inspection experience on a wide range of vehicles Low voltage electrical diagnostic experience.
