Team Lead Copywriting & Localization (All Genders)
About this role
The Team Lead Copywriting & Localization plays a pivotal role in shaping how zooplus defines, creates, and scales high quality content across languages, channels, and markets. The role blends strategic brand guardianship with operational excellence, uniting creative copywriting, editorial expertise, and advanced localization practices under one cohesive vision. Acting as a central orchestrator between creative teams, content owners, local markets, and technical stakeholders, the position ensures a consistent brand voice execution, seamless workflows, and efficient end-to-end content production.
In addition, the role drives the evolution of GenAI-enhanced content creation, establishes scalable content operations, and elevates overall content quality through clear frameworks, rigorous evaluation, and continuous improvement—ultimately strengthening the brand experience and communication effectiveness. Build, develop, and lead a multidisciplinary team (Copywriters, Editors, Localization PMs, AI specialists) and own coaching, resource planning, capacity management, hiring, and talent development.
Translate our brand and channel strategies into copy-guardrails and guidelines. Create compelling messaging across channels, optimized for a wide range of copy formats and delivering various goals from brand building to straightforward conversion. Establish an innovative, future-oriented content creation approach by integrating GenAI in our copy creating streams. Embed copy creation and localization seamlessly in our static and video asset creation workflows.
Establish and own the editorial roadmap and content calendar and capacity planning across the team. Design and optimize scalable Content Ops: intake management, prioritization, RACI definition, templates, checklists, versioning. Define and map workflows and processes together with other content leaders. Lead expert content (vet-reviewed content on pet health, nutrition, training): definition of content formats, briefings, fact-checking, compliance, medical disclaimers as strong interface to SEO / GEO.
Own and manage the online Magazine, our education hub for pet expertise content by monitoring KPI’s, maintenance and optimization of articles. Define the localization strategy: when to use direct translation vs. transcreation. Build terminology management, do-not-translate lists, and market-specific style guides. Implement a modular content approach (content bricks), taxonomy, metadata, reuse across channels/languages.
