Systems Integration Engineer - Compute
About this role
Infleqtion is a global quantum technology company solving the world’s most challenging problems. The company harnesses quantum mechanics to build and integrate quantum computers, sensors, and networks. From fundamental physics to leading edge commercial products, Infleqtion enables “quantum everywhere” through our ecosystem of devices and platforms. LOCATION Infleqtion has offices in the USA, United Kingdom and Australia.
This is a permanent, full-time position at our Kidlington, Oxford office. Our flexible working policy enables all full-time employees to work from home up to 2 days a week, if work permits. POSITION SUMMARY As part of our continued growth in the UK, we are expanding our Engineering Team and recruiting a Systems Integration Engineer . In this role, you will help build and deploy the next generation of our quantum computing systems, integrating RF, optical, electronic, and third-party devices with our advanced control systems.
You will work across multiple engineering disciplines to bring complex subsystems together into reliable, high-performance systems. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the development of ground-breaking quantum technologies with the potential to transform computing and solve some of the world’s most challenging problems. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Responsibilities Integrate electronics devices, instruments, third-party devices, and subsystems into larger complex systems comprising RF, analogue, digital, optical, and mechanical elements.
Translate system-level requirements into practical integration architectures, interfaces, cabling, power, communications, and control schemes. Develop system interconnects including cable assemblies, harnesses, RF connections, grounding, shielding, power distribution, and signal routing. Perform system bring-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and performance optimisation. Identify and resolve integration issues including grounding, EMI/EMC, signal integrity, timing, communications, power distribution, and environmental effects.
Develop and maintain system diagrams, interface control documentation, wiring diagrams, integration procedures, and configuration records. Define and execute integration, verification, and validation test plans at subsystem and system level. Use laboratory test and measurement equipment to diagnose system-level performance and integration problems. Support installation, deployment, commissioning, and maintenance of systems in laboratory and operational environments.
