Sustainability Analyst
About this role
The Role will involve: Supporting continuous enhancement in the monitoring of sustainability trends and benchmarking performance across the different sectors Egis operates in. Leading the development of new tools and reporting to help gain insight and understanding of our performance. Liaising with multiple functions within the business (e.g. HR, Procurement, Project Operations) to collate and record robust and accurate sustainability data for Europe and Africa Region.
Undertaking detailed analysis of this data in line with Egis sustainability objectives and targets and translating/presenting the output in various formats (for example reports and dashboards) for a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Analysing quantitative and qualitative inputs/outputs associated with key issues such as carbon emissions, biodiversity and social value to understand our impacts and support in the preparation of recommendations for improvement in performance.
Supporting the implementation of Egis’ social value strategy, including the collection, analysis and reporting of social value data in the UK and Ireland to demonstrate impact and identify narratives. Supporting the Egis Europe and Africa sustainability Team in developing and writing powerful narratives to include data driven analysis on environmental and social impact issues. Contributing to the development of new ways of recording and analysing data, in line with industry and legislative requirements.
Continually reviewing current and forthcoming sustainability legislation, standards, criteria and best practice, such as TCFD, SBTi, SDS, TNFD and CSRD. Contributing to our work winning activities, including supporting bids, tenders and proposals by providing sustainability data, insight and evidence-based narratives. Hybrid working is possible for this role, with your main office being based in either London or Warsaw.
Occasional travel around the UK/Poland and to France may be required. By exception and agreement to other parts of Europe/Africa. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Experience collecting, managing and analysing, sustainability or corporate responsibility data, with the ability to identify trends, draw insight and support evidence-based recommendations Comfortable working with complex numerical and financial data with a detail focused lens Strong report writing and communication skills, with experience translating complex quantitative and qualitative information into clear outputs for internal and external stakeholders Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and data management or reporting systems, with the ability to develop dashboards, trackers or other tools to improve performance monitoring Knowledge of key sustainability themes including carbon, biodiversity, social value, sustainable procurement and responsible business practices Understanding of current and emerging sustainability reporting frameworks, standards and regulations, such as but not limited to: TCFD, SBTi, TNFD and CSRD, with a willingness to continue developing technical knowledge Experience working with multiple business functions to gather accurate data, engage stakeholders and support continuous improvement across sustainability performance is preferred Previous experience in a sustainability role, covering ESG, environmental, social value, data analysis or similar role would be desirable QUALIFICATIONS: Sustainability or environmental degree or equivalent Experience in a role or degree using both quantitative and qualitative data Analytical or data management qualifications (Desirable) A member of ISEP or equivalent sustainability professional body (Desirable) APPROACH TO WORK: Global mindset with a desire to work on analysis, data and projects throughout the region of Europe and Africa Passionate and motivated about sustainability whilst understanding the need to support plans to deliver overall business objectives Analytical thinker who can propose flexible alternatives and see ways around issues to achieve results and continuous improvement Both a strong team player able to build effective relationships and work collaboratively, but also comfortable with setting their own way of working with autonomy Excellent communication and influencing skills Works hard to deliver results personally and through multiple teams Maintains and develops their own expertise and the skills and knowledge of others Demonstrates resilience and overcomes setbacks, using all feedback as productive and an improvement opportunity Able to prioritise workload effectively to ensure core tasks are delivered on time and within budget Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: At Egis, we are an Equal Opportunities employer and we recognise the value of a diverse organisation.
