Supervisory Technology Transfer and Patent Specialist
About this role
You qualify at the GS-15 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements: You must possess a Bachelor's degree, or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of this position. (This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained).
AND You qualify if you have at least one year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks: adapting, interpreting, and analyzing complex issues pertaining to the laws, regulations, and policies, applicable to the transfer of intellectual property and/or technology; conducting negotiations with academic, business or other organizations regarding patents and inventions; advising on matters involving domestic and foreign patent rights, policies and procedures; developing strategies to further commercialize development of inventions and proprietary materials into services to enhance public health; and recommending changes to an organization's technology development and transfer program to support advancing research and commercializing technologies.
