SUPERVISORY MISSION SUPPORT OFFICER
About this role
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include: (1) Working knowledge of a wide range of manpower concepts, principles, operations, laws, regulations, programs, and practices; knowledge of a wide range of personnel (civilian and military) concepts, principles, operations, laws, regulations, programs, and practices; and practical knowledge of education, readiness, and budget execution concepts, principles, operations, and practices; (2) knowledge and extensive experience in accounting principles and procedures; skilled in basic accounting, cost comparisons, budgets preparation, financial analysis, asset controls, and short and long-term facility requirements; (3) knowledge of resource protection to include security concepts, principles, practices, and standards relating to the protection of resources, crime prevention and suppression.
Knowledge of the operation of and required standards for physical protective equipment and systems; (4) knowledge of the full range of federal, DOD, and laws and regulations governing business administration concepts and procedures as applicable to business operation standards, practices, characteristics, equipment and products related to the hospitality (food, beverage and entertainment), lodging, and outdoor recreation; extensive experience in five different areas (food, beverage, entertainment, lodging, and outdoor recreation).
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
