About this role

In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as providing technical advice related to air quality, health, and/or economic impacts of air quality management programs or policies; providing input on the development of air quality, health, and/or economic assessments; and coaching or mentoring others.

To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as advising teams, stakeholders and/or senior leadership on the air quality, health, and/or economic impacts of air quality management programs or policies; providing oversight and recommendations on the development of air quality, health, and/or economic assessments; and leading workgroups, projects or programs.

You will need the following competencies in order to perform the duties of this position successfully: Technical Competence* Planning and Evaluating* Organizational Awareness Partnering* (assessed at GS-14 only) Coaching and Developing Others Leadership* (assessed at GS-15 only) *You will be evaluated on these critical competencies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
