SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER
About this role
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of advanced marine mechanical engineering theory, concepts, principles and practices and related naval architectural and electrical engineering fields that enable the incumbent to serve as an expert in developing and enforcing policy affecting ship design, maintenance, and repair.
2) Experience supervising engineers, recommending appointments, promotions, or reassignments to such positions; making or approving selections for subordinate nonsupervisory positions. 3) Comprehensive knowledge of USCG, ABS, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL and other commercial standards and regulations and Navy policy related to ship design, operation, and maintenance. 4) Skill in leading and directing the actions of others to ensure work is accomplished in accordance with applicable guidance.
Experience planning the work to be accomplished by others, setting and adjusting priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work. 5) Experience in planning, developing, and estimating work items or alterations and performing shipboard material condition surveys.
