Supervisory Environmental Policy Analyst
About this role
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements, including any requirements described in the Education section, by the closing date of this announcement. In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as providing technical advice on environmental or air quality programs; establishing or implementing policies, procedures, and guidance to accomplish program goals and resolve operational problems; and coaching, mentoring, or providing direction to staff or workgroups.
To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as overseeing or leading an environmental protection program or project related to air quality; researching, analyzing, and resolving policy, regulatory, or technical issues; and leading workgroups, projects, and/or programs involving multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities. You will need the following competencies in order to perform the duties of this position successfully: Policy Planning and Execution* (assessed at the GS-14 only) Program/Project Management/Evaluation* Coaching and Developing Others Planning and Evaluating Organizational Awareness Consultation Technical Competence* Administration and Management Leadership* (assessed at the GS-15 only) Decision Making Influencing/Negotiating *You will be evaluated on these critical competencies.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
