Supervisory Contract Specialist

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration. Specialized Experience - Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the private sector leading procurement professionals and providing expert acquisition oversight for complex Federal contracting activities.

Qualifying experience must include applying contracting principles, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to significant pre-award and contract formation activities. Examples include: developing acquisition and sourcing strategies; overseeing acquisition planning, solicitations, source selections/oral presentations, complex cost and price analysis, negotiations, and awards; advising senior management on contract types, clauses, and procurement approaches; establishing operating priorities and internal procedures; and resolving complex or novel acquisition issues.

Specialized experience does not include serving solely as a purchase card holder, managing a purchase card program, serving solely as a contracting officer's representative, managing a small or disadvantaged business office, or experience limited to simplified acquisition.
