To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Basic Requirements: All applicants must meet the following basic qualifications. United States Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen.

Education. A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university Certification. Candidates must meet one of the certification options below: Generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) given by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) or the American Medical Technologist (AMT), - OR - Generalist certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) given by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Registry (ASCP BOR) or AMT, - OR - Categorical certification or Specialist certification by ASCP or AMT English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C.

7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. Grade Determinations: In addition to the basic requirements for employment, candidates must meet the following grade-determining criteria for placement at grade levels specified. The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-13. Physical Requirements: Must pass a pre-employment physical examination/evaluation as required by VA Handbook 5019. This examination/evaluation is administered by VA Occupational Health.
