SUPERVISORY AIRFIELD MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Incumbent must be removed from their military recall status ifalternatives forfilling the position during an emergency are not available. Incumbent may be required to workextended and/orirregular hours during exercises or contingency situations. In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems, in maintaining, retailing, purchasing, or procurement of automotive, rail, air, bus, or other transportation equipment or services, or in the operation of a commercial transportation facility or terminal. This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations; familiarity with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles; and the maintenance of inventories and cost computations.
Knowledge of DOD, Air Force, Federal Aviation Administration, and International Civil Aviation rules, laws, regulations, instructions, and directives as they pertain to airfield planning and design criteria, aircraft operations, and airfield management. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. OR EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., in a related Major study - accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position.
