About this role

ABOUT US: The Live Data unit is responsible for the development, delivery, and global distribution of real-time sports data across a diverse range of sporting events. Through strong partnerships with rights holders, media organizations, and betting companies worldwide, the unit ensures the seamless provision of accurate, high-quality data across 30+ different sports disciplines, including e-sports. Our international team develops and maintains a range of advanced platforms to integrate, manage, and analyse data from multiple sources.

The development team based in Wrocław focuses on: In-Game Pipeline – a system for collecting source data, either manually captured by scouts during events or generated through AI-driven computer vision technology. Prediction Markets – a system focus on reducing any latency and providing the ultra fast feed crafted for the client needs. THE CHALLENGE: This is a role for a technical leader who wants to shape the direction of an engineering organization, not just contribute to it.

You will define architecture, drive strategy across multiple teams, and have the kind of influence that makes the whole platform better - not just your corner of it. At Sportradar the problems are real, the scale is global, and the pace is fast. This is not a role for someone who wants to be told what to build. Key Responsibilities: Define and drive technical architecture and engineering strategy across multiple teams and product areas Lead the design of scalable, high-performance distributed systems that process millions of real-time events daily Own complex cross-functional initiatives with significant business impact, from first principles through to production Set engineering standards, architecture principles, and the long-term technical roadmap for your area Mentor Senior Engineers and act as the technical anchor for teams working through ambiguous, high-stakes problems Influence engineering, product, and leadership stakeholders - and translate technical strategy into business outcomes they care about Bring deep expertise in AWS, cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes, and event-driven architectures to decisions that matter at org level Lead platform modernization, technical transformation, and large-scale migration initiatives where needed ABOUT YOU: You are a recognized technical leader with a track record that speaks for itself.

You have solved organization-scale problems before, you know how to bring people with you, and you understand that the best technical decisions are also good business decisions. Technical Task - A take-home coding assignment designed to reflect our daily work, completed at your convenience. Technical Interview - An in-depth discussion on your submitted coding task, including a review of your thought process, live coding exercises, and a system design discussion tailored to the level of the role. Cultural Fit Interview - A conversation with Senior Management to assess your ability to work in a matrix organization and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the business.
