Specialist Health Lead
About this role
About the role: Good health shouldn't be a privilege, and no one should be denied the chance to recover, rebuild or move forward because they can't access the care they need. At Harrow Road Assessment Hub in Westminster, you'll help break down the barriers that too often leave people experiencing homelessness without the healthcare, understanding and support they deserve. Harrow Road provides short-stay accommodation and intensive support to people moving away from rough sleeping, many of whom have experienced significant trauma, poor physical and mental health, substance use and multiple disadvantage.
As our Specialist Health Lead, you'll play a vital role in helping residents address unmet health needs, access treatment and take meaningful steps towards greater stability and wellbeing. Whether you're advocating for someone who has repeatedly been turned away from services, coordinating specialist referrals or supporting a resident to attend an important appointment, your work will help make healthcare more accessible and recovery feel possible.
You'll be a driving force for better health outcomes across the service, working alongside colleagues, healthcare professionals and community partners to ensure residents' needs are recognised and acted on. You'll provide specialist guidance to the team, strengthen relationships with local health providers and help shape more effective pathways into care. In a fast-moving environment where residents may be facing several challenges at once, your ability to build trust, challenge barriers and find creative solutions will make a real difference.
This is an opportunity to develop your specialist expertise, influence how health support is delivered and become a trusted voice within a passionate, multidisciplinary team. With opportunities for learning, collaboration and professional development, you'll help create lasting change for people whose health needs have too often gone unheard. About you: You are experienced in supporting people facing multiple disadvantage, including homelessness, mental and physical ill health, substance use and trauma, and understand how these experiences can create barriers to accessing healthcare.
