About this role
Location: UK. Fully remote, or from our London office next to East Croydon Station Working pattern: Fully remote working is allowed, and the London office is available to you Reports to: CTO About Us Hozah is a tech-led, award-winning company driving change in the parking industry and reimagining urban mobility. Our mission is simple but powerful: to transform parking into a seamless, automated experience, paving the way for smarter, more sustainable cities.
With recent recognition as PayTech Company of the Year, a place among Deloitte’s Top 50 Fastest Growing Tech Companies in the UK, and significant VC/PE investment, we’re one of the fastest scaling companies in the country. Role Overview You will build the products drivers and car park operators use every day: ANPR camera enforcement, pay-by-web, Autopay, permits, a client console and a motorist account app, across about 160 sites, and the new products we build next.
We are a small engineering team, and we form teams around the work from the people we have. We work in Kotlin on the backend (Spring Boot WebFlux, a domain-driven layering of domain, edge services and repository, Postgres, Axon event sourcing and Pub/Sub) and in TypeScript with Next.js and React on the front end, on GCP and Kubernetes. You do not need to know Kotlin to apply. Our engineers work with AI coding agents day to day, and we are looking for people who use them well and check what they produce.
Every engineer here is product-minded. You will talk to the people who use what you build, decide with product people what is worth building, and find out afterwards whether it worked. You will report to the CTO and work with a team that reviews each other’s work. The Mid-level Mid-level Software Engineer. You own features end to end: you shape them with a product person, build them, test them, release them and look after them once they are live.
You work inside an existing architecture with senior review. The work is mostly Kotlin backend plus Next.js and React front end. Key Responsibilities Own the delivery of what you are given, from the first ticket to production, with tests, and be the person who fixes it if it breaks. Talk to the people who use what you build, and use what you learn to shape and cut scope. Write acceptance criteria, and check a feature after release to see whether it was used and whether it worked.
