Software Development Manager - Growth
About this role
ABOUT THE ROLE Hi, I'm Vivek, and I lead Product Growth at Jane. I've spent the last decade building and scaling growth engines at high-growth companies, and I joined Jane this year to build our first dedicated Growth group. I care about teams that stay close to the customer, ship often, and learn from every release so we can build things clinics couldn't have asked for yet. Our mission is Activation. Most clinics set up Jane on their own, and those first weeks shape everything that follows.
When a clinic gets up and running early, it tends to stay with us for years, and when that early experience is right, Jane grows. It's one of the most important problems in the company, and we're giving it a dedicated team with one clear outcome. The work spans improving the onboarding clinics use today and building a brand new agentic onboarding experience alongside it, for tens of thousands of clinics that each run a little differently.
That's where you come in. I'm looking for an AI-first Development Manager to lead the developers on this team, with product, design, and data right beside you. You build with AI, you stay close to the architecture and the code, and the people around you get better at building with AI because you're there. You have opinions about what an agentic world could do for practitioners, and you want to test them with real clinics.
If leading a team that ships every week and watches clinics get going because of it sounds like fun, I'd love to meet you. WHAT IMPACT WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOU TO MAKE - Lead and grow a team of developers, coaching each person on their technical and professional skills so they keep building their craft and their career. - Build alongside the team by reviewing architecture, pairing, and shipping, so technical depth stays one of the group's real strengths.
- Own Activation as an outcome with your partners in product, design, and data, and change course when something ships but doesn't help clinics get going. - Bring a point of view to our direction on AI-driven onboarding, from how to frame the problem to what to build first and where we need better infrastructure. - Shape how the team ships, with small weekly releases, instrumentation that shows what actually happened, and experiments designed to teach us something either way.
