SHE Manager
About this role
Strategic Leadership & Governance Lead the development and execution of the SHE strategy aligned with LDC’s global and regional objectives. Act as the primary liaison between the Regional SHE teams and local operations, ensuring alignment and effective implementation of SHE initiatives. Provide strategic advice to the Country Manager and senior leadership on SHE matters to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Lead a multi-functional SHE team across Hungary, developing and assuring best class service Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management Ensure full compliance with national, state, and local SHE regulations, including obtaining and managing environmental permits. Design and implement proactive and preventive SHE management systems to avoid incidents and ensure legal compliance. Serve as the company’s point of contact with regulatory bodies (e.g., safety and environmental authorities, etc.).
Operational Excellence Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of SHE programs across all sites. Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments; ensure corrective actions are implemented. Lead emergency preparedness and response planning, ensuring operational readiness. Training, Awareness & Culture Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for employees and contractors to foster a zero-accident culture.
Promote awareness and accountability through communication strategies and leadership engagement. Lead cultural transformation initiatives to embed SHE values across all levels of the organization. Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship Drive initiatives that minimize environmental impact and promote sustainable operations. Ensure alignment with corporate sustainability goals and contribute to long-term environmental strategies.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting Develop and maintain SHE performance indicators and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making. Prepare and present reports to internal and external stakeholders on SHE performance, risks, and improvements. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or safety-related field 7+ years of SHE management experience, preferably in food, processing, or industrial environments High travel readiness required Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills Experience with SHE systems and data-driven decision-making Native Hungarian speaker Fluent in English Diversity & Inclusion LDC is driven by a set of shared values and high ethical standards, with diversity and inclusion being part of our DNA.
