The Infrastructure Engineering team’s mission is to provide cloud native infrastructure, automation and tools that enable teams across Toast to deliver products in a safe, secure and agile manner, with minimal operational dependencies.
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for platform architecture and providing the automation and implementation for landing zones as well as network and security infrastructure for new AWS regions. A day in the life (Responsibilities) Work within a Scrum team to create, document and support various infrastructure as code modules. Create, document and support various tools and services used in order to support continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous deployment of highly available infrastructure in various environments.
Use your familiarity with DevOps methodologies and practices to foster a culture of quality while facilitating developer velocity. Create tools to help our developers move their infrastructure from a monolithic repo to individual service repos for use with our IDP. You believe internal tools deserve unit tests. Lead by example with code standards and design; help implement these across the scrum team’s products. Mentor and support developers within the organisation on using and extending of IaC tooling and support systems using DevOps methodologies.
What you'll need to thrive (Requirements) Minimum 6+ years of software engineering experience, specialising in DevOps/Infrastructure/Platform engineering Hands on experience with object orientated programming is a MUST for this role. You must have hands on experience with writing Terraform Providers Expertise with at least one public cloud computing offering such as AWS, GCP or Azure infrastructure SDKs Expertise with Infrastructure-as-Code framework internals & SDKs (Terraform providers, Ansible modules & plugins, etc) Experience maintaining large-scale infrastructure, including both production and nonproduction workloads.
