Remote
Senior Software Engineer, Frontend (App Experience)
About this role
At Affirm, we exist for the moments that matter—giving people a clear, predictable way to pay over time, with no hidden fees, no surprises, and no tradeoffs on what matters most. The Marketplace and App Experience domain is the main pillar of our core consumer strategy, driving the user journey across all of our frontend surfaces: iOS, Android, and Web. The teams span across multiple products and areas to engage and provide value to our customers, starting with the Home hub in the app or website, which expands into the various product offers and journeys a user can embark on with Affirm.
This role will be at the forefront of our front end technical strategy, working closely with other experts across our mobile and web technologies, while also evolving and collaborating with every product experience team at Affirm. You’ll bring React with TypeScript expertise to work alongside our product engineering teams. You’ll be responsible for a range of tasks including coordinating and implementing broader product features from Figma or product requirements in high stakes critical projects, migrating and modernizing our web code implementation, design systems, and architecture, and doing this efficiently through building and/or reusing codemods, AI agent skills, and tools.
What You'll Do You will be responsible for owning and delivering quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers on your team through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems, and ensuring that everyone is supported throughout delivery. You will support your peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics by participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that properly consider risks and trade-offs.
You will proactively identify project, process, technology or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them. You will support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting “keep the lights on” & on-call efforts. You will foster a culture of quality and ownership on your team by setting or improving code review and design standards for your team, and advocating for them beyond your team through your writing and tech talks.
