Compensation: £120k base salary plus equity Visa Sponsorship: Available for the right candidate Start Date: As soon as possible Why we exist Every decision a business makes, from the suppliers it trusts to the risks it accepts, eventually shows up as spend. This makes spend data the most honest record of how a company operates.

Not the strategy deck or the org chart: spend describes what really happened. This record exists, but it's scattered across dozens of systems and decades of legacy technology. Companies spending billions a year still can't easily answer: Who are our suppliers? Where are we exposed? What are we paying for twice? We believe a business that can't see itself clearly can't make great decisions. Deducta exists to give the world's most complex organisations a true picture of how they operate, and the intelligence to act on it.

Our ambition is to become the category-defining platform for enterprise data intelligence. How we do it Most tools start and stop with dashboards. We start with the hard part: turning fragmented, messy enterprise data into a consistent foundation people can trust. Then we use AI to make it conversational, so anyone in the business can ask a question and get an answer they can act on. We're well funded, growing fast, and have already processed more than £1 trillion of spend for some of the world's largest and most recognisable companies.

Our partners use Deducta to deliver major business transformations orders of magnitude faster. Why this role matters None of this works without the data. Every enterprise brings its own tangle of ERPs and legacy systems, and the usual answer is yet another integration. We think a new era of enterprise data intelligence needs a new way of thinking about data, not a new layer of the same plumbing. You'll find new ways to reach and make sense of enterprise data, pairing the very best of AI with your own creativity to crack hard problems.

You'll have real autonomy over how you approach it, in a small, high-trust team with genuine influence over architecture, product and how engineering grows. What you'll do Design, build and ship high-quality backend systems that power Deducta. Work with customers to understand their problems, and bring fresh insights and ideas that shape the platform. Develop reliable, scalable data and AI pipelines that ingest and process enterprise data.

Build internal tools and models that get more value from enterprise data and improve how we deliver our product. Expand the range and depth of data Deducta can access, building a more complete picture of how large businesses operate. Push the boundaries of applied AI, both in the product and in how we build it. Own problems end to end, from definition to deployment, making sound calls on architecture, trade-offs, performance and reliability along the way.

Success in this role means: Customers find deeper value faster: You find new ways to deliver speed and value to customers at scale. Broader, connected data: Deducta can reach and link new kinds of enterprise data beyond spend, giving customers a fuller picture of their business. Systems others build on: The pipelines and tools you've built are reliable, documented and used by the team without needing you. Who you are You're a senior backend engineer who enjoys hard, loosely defined problems and takes them all the way to production.

You don't need a background in enterprise data or procurement. We care about how you think and the quality of what you've built. You might be the right fit if you have: Strong backend fundamentals and experience building reliable, maintainable systems, ideally with complex or messy data. Sound architectural judgement, and the ability to explain the trade-offs behind your decisions. A track record of owning problems from investigation through to production.

A solid grasp of software design principles. .NET and TypeScript help, but fundamentals matter more than a stack match. High standards for testing, code quality and managing technical debt. Clear communication with engineers, product, customers and external technical teams. Real curiosity about applied AI, and the creativity to use it on problems others haven't cracked. We care most about how you think, the quality of your work and how you approach unfamiliar problems.

Previous startup experience isn't essential, but the pace, initiative and judgement to thrive in one are. How we work We believe in freedom and responsibility.
