Senior Software Developer – Agentic Coder

About this role

As a Senior Software Developer – Agentic Coder , you will play a key role in developing modern software solutions in an engineering environment where AI coding agents are an integral part of everyday development . We are looking for an experienced, hands-on developer who knows how to leverage AI coding agents beyond simple code generation. You will independently deliver complex software solutions, combining agent-assisted development with strong engineering judgment to ensure high standards of quality, security and maintainability.

Our main technology stack includes Spring Boot, Java and Kotlin , complemented by modern frontend technologies such as React and Angular. You will have the opportunity to explore new development approaches, influence technical decisions and contribute to the evolution of AI-assisted software engineering within Bosch. Your tasks: ► Independently design, develop and deliver complex software solutions from requirements analysis to production-ready implementation ► Leverage AI coding agents throughout the software development lifecycle , including planning, implementation, testing, debugging, refactoring and code review ► Structure development tasks and provide AI agents with the appropriate context, technical constraints and acceptance criteria ► Critically review and validate AI-generated code , ensuring correctness, security, performance and maintainability ► Develop and continuously improve backend applications using Spring Boot, Java and Kotlin , contributing to frontend development when needed ► Participate in architectural and technical decisions, balancing business requirements, scalability and long-term solution quality ► Design and maintain automated tests and utilize CI/CD pipelines, static analysis and quality checks to validate implementations ► Identify technical risks, investigate complex issues and proactively improve existing applications and development processes ► Explore emerging agentic development tools and techniques and evaluate their practical value for software engineering ► Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues, supporting the adoption of effective AI-assisted development approaches ► Several years of professional software development experience at Senior level , with a proven ability to independently deliver complex solutions ► Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and professional development experience in Java and/or Kotlin ► Substantial practical experience with modern AI coding agents , including their use in complex, multi-step software development activities ► Ability to effectively guide AI agents, provide appropriate context and critically evaluate generated solutions ► Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, automated testing and clean coding principles ► Experience working with existing and unfamiliar codebases, including debugging, refactoring and technical improvements ► Ability and willingness to contribute across different parts of a modern web application stack ► Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, independent and quality-oriented working style ► Proactive mindset, strong ownership and willingness to explore new technologies and development approaches ► Good communication and collaboration skills in an international engineering environment ► Very good command of English , both written and spoken What gives you further advantages: ► Experience with React, Angular, TypeScript or other modern frontend technologies ► Practical experience with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot or comparable coding-agent environments ► Knowledge of context engineering, repository-level agent instructions and advanced agent-assisted workflows ► Experience with relational and NoSQL databases ► Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and cloud technologies ► Experience with microservices, distributed systems and enterprise applications ► Experience with CI/CD processes and production operation of software Get to know our #LikeABosch benefits.
