EU remote
Senior Security Risk Officer
About this role
Since 2004, we've had one clear goal: to make payments and money management effortless for every business in Europe. Today, more than 250,000 companies use Mollie to get paid, manage money and grow – with products designed to be simple, scalable, and dependable. With 950+ Mollies across 14+ locations, we care deeply about autonomy and craft. So we work in small teams, with real ownership, and we trust you to make the right decisions.
We're building for the long term, so we provide the tools you need, processes you can rely on, and a balanced work environment to help you do work you're proud of. Sound like your kind of place? Let's build together. YOUR IMPACT Mollie's Risk team is growing, and this role sits at the center of that growth. You'll work closely with product teams as they build and enhance offerings like card issuing, bank accounts, instant transactions, and new payment methods, making sure every new product holds up against regulations without adding risk for our customers.
You'll also screen new tools and vendors entering the organisation, owning the security angle (think authorization and authentication) while working alongside Compliance on every new product. As a senior member of a small team, you'll bring technical depth and help colleagues earlier in their risk careers build theirs too, especially as AI becomes a bigger part of how Mollie operates. This isn't a role for checklist followers.
You'll work independently, without rigid frameworks, and help shape how security risk is handled as Mollie's footprint keeps expanding. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: - Partner with colleagues to build new or updated products, manage and deploy IT assets and implement risk and security controls while ensuring adherence to relevant regulations (DORA, PSD2, GDPR, AI Act, CRA, NIS2, etc.). Drive efficiencies and adherence to relevant governance and champion them across the organisation, - Together with the senior stakeholders of Risk and Compliance set out second line risk priorities and initiatives, - Foster a strong risk culture across the entire organisation; support a growing organisation in all relevant areas, - Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes in internal/external audits and certifications (PCI-DSS, SOC2, etc.), - Translate complex regulations into actionable guidance, championing a risk culture that balances commercial success with compliance.
