You can't build your robot and then make it safe - functional safety must be baked into the hardware, electrical systems, and software from day one. The Role We are seeking a Senior Safety Software Engineer to play a critical role in implementing a functionally safe perception system. In this role, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and functional safety principles. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and validate safety-critical software architecture.

Key Responsibilities Design & Develop: Design and implement robust, highly reliable software for safety-critical systems using both traditional functional safety techniques and emerging deep learning safety techniques. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with our machine learning, hardware, and core software teams to ensure that data pipelines, models, and middleware operate within defined safety envelopes.
System Architecture: Develop and optimize software running on both Linux and real-time operating systems. Testing & Validation: Create rigorous testing frameworks and validation strategies to prove system reliability and safety under edge-case scenarios. Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers on safety-critical coding standards and best practices. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
