Senior Product Manager - Subscriptions
About this role
Spotify's mission is to unlock the potential of human creativity by giving a million creative artists the opportunity to live off their art and billions of fans the chance to enjoy and be passionate about these creators. The Subscriptions Mission builds and evolves Spotify's subscription products and marketplace experiences to drive sustainable user and revenue growth globally. We focus on awareness, acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization strategies that help users unlock the full value of Spotify while enabling the business to scale efficiently and responsibly.
This role focuses on the awareness, acquisition, and activation layers of the Subscriptions Mission, making Premium feel unmissable to free users long before a purchase decision. You'll own the strategy for how users discover, understand, and develop intent for Premium value, partnering closely with product, design, engineering, research, marketing, and data science to shape the moments, surfaces, and experiences that drive consideration across markets and segments.
What You Will Do Own the product strategy and roadmap for how free users become aware of, experience, and develop intent for Premium, driving consideration, conversion intent, and subscriber growth across segments and markets. Lead the discovery, design, and delivery of subscriber-facing features from early concept through global rollout. Drive experiments that deepen our understanding of what makes users want Premium and measurably move free users closer to a purchase decision.
Turn behavioral, funnel, and market data into clear hypotheses, define meaningful success metrics, and build a prioritized experimentation roadmap. Design rigorous A/B experiments to evaluate funnel changes against strong baselines, scaling approaches that demonstrably work across markets and segments. Make pragmatic trade-offs across user value, revenue impact, regional nuance, and operational complexity, knowing when a simple flow change is enough and when a deeper platform capability is needed.
Partner with marketing, research, and regional teams to adapt value positioning and messaging for different markets, competitive landscapes, and user needs, including high-growth emerging markets where the path to Premium may look fundamentally different. Communicate strategy, results, and trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders, translating funnel mechanics and subscription economics into business impact and strategic direction.
