Senior Platform Engineer
About this role
Job Summary You will be part of the Platform team at LottieFiles , which builds and maintains the core systems that power our products covering authentication, federated GraphQL, data orchestration, and application architecture. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will champion developer experience across the organization — building the tooling, workflows, and golden paths that make it easier for every LottieFiles team to design schemas, develop subgraphs, and ship, treating internal developers as customers and platform capabilities as products.
To deliver that experience, you will design, build, and maintain the federated GraphQL gateway (Federation v2), gRPC services, and authentication service that power LottieFiles products, ensuring scalability, security, resilience, and compliance. You are a systems thinker who instruments, profiles, and optimizes running systems — you care about raw speed and latency, because a faster platform means a better experience for the developers building on it and the users they serve.
You will also mentor peers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team. Responsibilities Champion developer experience and enablement across the organization by establishing the architecture patterns, runtime tooling, workflows, and documentation around the federated gateway that make it easier for teams to design schemas, develop subgraphs, and consume APIs — treating developers as customers and platform capabilities as products.
Measure and improve developer experience continuously — gathering feedback from engineering teams, tracking adoption of platform tooling, and removing the friction points that slow teams down. Design, build, and maintain our federated GraphQL gateway (Federation v2) and gRPC services — resilient, compliant, and well-architected systems that ensure scalability, security, and high availability across the platform. Develop and maintain the platform's authentication service, including OAuth and SAML single sign-on integrations for enterprise customers and secure access to our APIs.
Build observability into our GraphQL gateway and platform APIs — metrics, distributed tracing, and structured logging — and use it to profile and optimize running systems for speed, latency, and resource efficiency. Collaborate with product, engineering, and DevOps teams — and with external vendors — to align platform initiatives with business and technical goals. Take ownership of issues and incidents, seeing them through to resolution and improving long-term system reliability.
