Senior Microsoft Purview Consultant / Architect
About this role
Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Microsoft Purview Consultant / Architect to join our Security & Compliance Advisory practice. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and lead architect to enterprise clients, bridging the gap between business risk, legal compliance (GDPR, NIS2, DORA), and enterprise level Purview architecture, leading and executing implementation yourself, with a delivery or implementation consultant available for large scale or complex builds.
A major focus of this position includes helping clients establish robust AI Governance and Microsoft Copilot readiness frameworks by securing their underlying data estates and delivering Copilot adoption and governance training to client teams. Key Responsibilities: Lead executive discovery sessions and workshops with C-suite stakeholders (CISO, DPO, General Counsel) to translate compliance requirements into actionable technical designs.
Design enterprise level Purview architectures and target operating models covering Data Security (Information Protection, Sensitivity Labels, Auto-classification, DLP), Data Governance & Lifecycle (Records Management, Retention, Data Cataloguing, Unified Maps), and Risk & Compliance (Insider Risk Management, eDiscovery Premium, Communication Compliance, Compliance Manager). Assess client data risk profiles prior to AI rollout; design strict permission controls and data lifecycle rules to prevent accidental data oversharing via Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Design and deliver Microsoft 365 Copilot enablement and governance training for client teams, translating Purview based data protection controls into practical Copilot usage guidance. Define integration architecture between Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender XDR, Defender for Cloud Apps, and Microsoft Entra ID, in close collaboration with the technical delivery team. Mentor junior consultants, contribute to reusable technical baselines, and assist in pre-sales activities including technical scoping and Statement of Work (SOW) creation.
Qualifications & Skills: 5+ years in IT security, compliance, or cloud consultancy, with at least 2+ years of dedicated experience designing, implementing, and leading Microsoft Purview architectures for enterprise clients. Strong working knowledge of M365 service management and Entra ID permissions architecture. Working knowledge of PowerShell to read, validate, and lightly adapt scripts for policy validation and reporting; deep scripting or automation development is a plus.
