SharkNinja is looking for an enthusiastic Mechanical Systems Engineer to join the Systems Engineering group within Shark & Ninja Engineering. You'll identify key system-level requirements, prototype and test to fill gaps where requirements are unclear, align with cross-functional teams, and iterate as projects evolve through development.
Here are some of the EXCITING things you'll get to do: Drive product definition by communicating system functions and requirements across disciplines Build proof-of-concept prototypes with microcontrollers and 3D-printed designs to shape early product direction Guide engineering, electrical, and marketing teams on tradeoffs within complex thermal and electromechanical products Develop unique product design solutions for Shark & Ninja products sold globally Define, design, build, and test new products across the full lifecycle within a multi-disciplinary team Work hands-on in the lab to evaluate, test, and fix design prototypes and production systems Interpret test results and feed findings back into product improvement ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS: BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering 5+ years of experience in electro-mechanical systems engineering Experience programming microcontrollers — reading sensor data and controlling actuators (motors, LEDs) 3D CAD modeling experience (CREO or SolidWorks preferred) Familiarity with 3D printing and production processes such as injection molding Strong grasp of mechanical engineering fundamentals and DFM manufacturing techniques Preferred: Experience designing/testing consumer products, electromechanical devices, or small appliances; strong analytical skills and ownership of problem resolution; hands-on machine shop/fabrication skills; electronics (analog/digital) and test equipment knowledge; comfort working fast-paced and switching gears; passion for great products.
