Senior Manager, Account Management
About this role
The Senior Manager, Account Management is responsible for leading, managing, and coaching a team of 3-5 Account Managers, as well as owning a key portfolio of accounts for the agency. This includes ensuring successful delivery of digital marketing services across their team’s book of business - and managing the overall efficiency, revenue growth, strategic direction, and profitability for their portfolio of clients. This position requires a strategic, innovative, and organized leader that can inspire teams and streamline efforts cross-functionally.
This individual can identify solutions to complex business needs and manage client escalations to retain accounts and drive growth. The Senior Manager fosters collaboration, builds relationships, and achieves stakeholder buy-in, both internally and externally, to deliver satisfaction and value to 829’s clients. What You'll Do Lead, manage and coach 3-5 account managers of varying seniority, providing guidance, mentorship, and ongoing professional development.
This includes: - Leading weekly team meetings - Encouraging a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity - Running SWOT analyses - Overseeing team projects that help improve the department’s operational efficiency - Monitoring and reporting on team performance for CS leaders - Supporting the team with client deliverables (including QBR presentations) - Conducting individual weekly check-ins and reviews - Providing clear feedback, and establishing goals and objectives Directly own a portfolio of ~5-6 accounts.
This includes: - Serving as a strategic leader within the Account Management department, contributing extensive expertise in digital strategy and omnichannel marketing - Staying up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in account management and digital marketing - Transforming brand strategies into digital experiences that captivate and engage audiences - Developing and managing client relationships, serving as a strategic partner and trusted advisor - Communicating 829’s value proposition, capabilities, and processes to help grow current and prospective accounts - Overseeing and managing the strategy and execution of paid and organic campaigns (across search, social, display, email, content, design, and programmatic) to drive client satisfaction, retention, and growth - Directing and managing daily workflow from strategy and development to execution, maintenance, and optimizations - Leveraging experience in leading cross-functional teams/projects to ensure client needs are met and projects are delivered on time and within scope - Demonstrated expertise in managing team and client utilization, optimizing resources, and ensuring efficient project planning within a digital marketing setting - Reviewing client deliverables for quality, ensuring recommendations and work products are sound and viable - Achieving KPIs for clients and demonstrating value externally through ongoing reporting and business reviews, providing data insights, predictive analysis, and strategic planning on a quarterly basis - Assisting with generating new revenue from existing clients by upselling and cross-selling - Implementing tools and processes for enhanced account management and providing comprehensive training for the team What You'll Bring - Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field - 6+ years of experience in account management, preferably in a digital marketing agency - A minimum of 2 years managing direct reports - Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams - In-depth knowledge of digital marketing principles, including PPC, social media, SEO, email marketing, and content marketing (experience with PR is a plus) - Proven experience managing key client relationships / key stakeholders and developing account growth strategies - Ability to analyze data and develop insights to optimize campaign performance - Ability to design analyses with extensive record-level datasets, encompassing advertising impressions, site visitation, and online and offline sales data.
