Senior Data Engineer to Sergel Group

Sergel Group is one of the leading providers of credit management services in the Nordic region. We offer services within credit scoring, debt collection, debt purchasing, as well as messaging and payment solutions. Sergel is part of Marginalen Group and has just over 150 employees across Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland. About the role Sergel is on an exciting journey to strengthen its inhouse capabilities, bringing more competence and ownership closer to the business.
This means several ongoing development areas and new projects where data plays a central role, and the people who work with it are central to Sergel's ability to compete and grow across the Nordic market. In this role you will drive the development of scalable, efficient and compliant data solutions, with a strong focus on operational excellence and exploring new opportunities for innovation. You will have significant autonomy and a broad mandate to influence technical direction, make key decisions and ensure they are executed with real impact.
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a natural drive to take ownership and move things forward. Over time, you are motivated by the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and a more leading position within the area. Your responsibilities will include: Defining and enforcing data modeling standards, best practices and governance policies. Designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and optimizing ETL processes.
Building and maintaining applications and integrations for data ingestion, transformation and delivery. Driving the shift from external-dependent delivery toward strong in-house capability. Setting the technical direction and owning key architectural decisions. Ensuring that BI is an integral part of the data platform, enabling trusted reporting, analytics and data-driven decision-making across the organization. Qualifications and experience You are someone who combines deep technical expertise with a natural drive to take ownership.
You communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders and thrive in environments where you can shape and improve things rather than just maintain them. You enjoy working closely with others, sharing knowledge and helping the team grow through collaboration, curiosity and mutual respect. You are humble enough to listen and confident enough to challenge when needed. You also bring: Solid experience as a data engineer and e xperience with designing, modeling and implementing data-intensive systems.
