Senior Business Analyst
About this role
Our clients ask us to make sense of complex, ambiguous problem spaces across digital transformation initiatives, spanning products, platforms, operating models, and data. As a Senior BA here, you’re a problem framer and synthesiser, not an order taker, who turns research, stakeholder input, and data into clear options, a recommendation, and a practical path to value. You partner closely with Product, Delivery, Engineering and Design to shape the “why/what”, enable the “how”, and de-risk delivery end to end.
As a Senior Business Analyst you will deliver for clients today and lean in to building the BA capability here, growing their careers alongside the function as TDG grows. Who you are: A consulting calibre BA: who thrives in ambiguity and brings structured, hypothesis driven thinking to messy problems. You’re not a ticket writer; you create clarity, choices, and decisions. Industry relevance: Experienced working to the GOV.UK Service Standard or within the public sector.
Strategic + analytical: you’re comfortable stepping into ambiguous problem spaces and connecting them to tangible, measurable business outcomes. You help clients break these down into clear, step‑by‑step deliverables, bringing analytical rigour so the work can be planned and delivered with confidence. Translational: you turn analysis into meaningful insights that underpin decision making. You work with Product and clients to prioritise benefits and trade‑offs across options and outline practical routes to value.
Slides and docs are vehicles for judgement, not the job. Stakeholder partner: you build credibility and trust quickly, operating as a trusted advisor and collaborator. You tailor engagement to context and seniority, and you use concise, outcome-led interactions to help stakeholders align and make decisions at pace. Delivery pragmatic: you’ve worked effectively in Agile environments, but you can flex your approach to context.
You stay focused on client needs and protect outcomes throughout the delivery lifecycle, regardless of framework. Digital transformation experience: you’ve led analysis and direction‑setting on complex digital programmes, working across the transformation lifecycle - from early problem framing and research, through analysis and stakeholder alignment, into shaping solution direction and supporting delivery end‑to‑end. Mindset: you’re outcomes-focused, commercially aware, and comfortable working in the open - sharing your thinking early and being transparent about potential pitfalls.
