Senior Audio Tech QA Analyst
About this role
CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Senior Audio Tech QA Analyst to take ownership of quality, stability and performance across our shared audio technologies. Working closely with Audio Code, Sound Design, Music and QA teams, you will be responsible for validating complex audio systems, investigating difficult technical problems and building effective testing solutions. You will work across C++, Unreal Engine and Wwise, using debugging and profiling tools to understand not only when something fails, but why.
As a Senior, you will own complex technical quality topics end-to-end, make risk-based recommendations, develop testing and automation solutions, improve pipelines and practices, and help other QA team members grow their technical capabilities. Responsibilities Oversee the stability, performance, and quality of shared audio systems throughout the entire development lifecycle. Create comprehensive test strategies and coverage plans to identify technical risks early and define effective validation approaches.
Conduct deep-dive investigations and root-cause analysis on complex audio issues using C++, Unreal Engine, and Wwise. Monitor and validate audio system performance metrics, including CPU usage, memory, streaming, and runtime behavior. Design and maintain automated testing solutions, functional test environments, and debugging tools to increase investigation efficiency. Work closely with Audio Code and Design teams to evaluate technical solutions and provide data-driven quality recommendations.
Drive improvements to testing pipelines, workflows, and QA practices by researching and integrating new testing technologies. Manage technical QA efforts across in-house and external teams to ensure consistent coverage for complex audio features. Elevate team capabilities through clear technical documentation, knowledge sharing, workshops, and mentoring. 5+ years of professional experience in technical QA, software testing, or game development with a focus on complex technical systems.
Proven track record of owning quality, stability, and performance for technical features throughout the development cycle. Strong practical knowledge of Unreal Engine and C++, with the ability to read, investigate, and debug production code. Proficiency with audio middleware like Wwise, including technical debugging and performance profiling. Expertise in using diagnostic and profiling tools such as Unreal Insights, PIX, or Razor to analyze performance data, logs, and traces.
