The selectee must also meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements cited below, unless a waiver is granted by the AF Senior Acquisition Executive (SAE). Please indicate in your resume the level and source of certification or eligibility for certification. (a) APDP Level III certification in Engineering (or can be obtained within 24 months) (b) 8 years of acquisition experience (or equivalent), 4 of which were in a CAP (or equivalent) position QUALIFICATIONS: Eligibility will be based upon a clear showing the applicant has training, education and experience of the scope and quality sufficient to effectively carry-out the duties of the position.
Candidates must exemplify the corporate perspective, leadership vision, broad experience and character needed in the Civilian Senior Executive Service corps not only to satisfy the immediate vacancy, but future vacancies which will occur in a variety of organizations, functions and locations. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must reflect superior technical qualifications demonstrated through leadership and management in the following: TQ1: Must possess the expertise to lead cross cutting teams, develop AF enterprise level capability development and analytical partnership TQ2: Must have experience in planning, programming formulation, capability and requirements development, acquisition, and systems engineering The ideal candidate will possess the following experience: The ideal candidate will serve as the senior technical authority for leading cross-cutting capability development and analysis efforts in direct support of A589's mission to advance Air Force readiness, sustainment, and modernization priorities.
The Senior Leader (SL) expert will align their efforts with HAF/A5/7 delegated future force design and capability development, ensuring synchronization with National Defense Strategy (NDS) and SECAF-directed Operational Imperatives. This candidate will lead cross-cutting teams within A589, driving initiatives that balance risk to current Air Force operational readiness while advancing transformational capabilities. They will specify new requirements, directing decision quality analyses, leading efforts to mature game changing technologies that enhance A589's ability to deliver combat power and sustain critical Air Force capabilities.
