Security Specialist (Technical)

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. To qualify, applicants must have one year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes: 1. Managing communication security programs by developing plans, policies, procedures, and methods for implementation and administration to protect COMSEC material and information in accordance with DoD, NSA, Army, and other applicable guidance.
2. Conducting communication security inspections, staff assistance visits, and related oversight activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reduce vulnerability of secure communications. 3. Implementing traditional security, physical security, access control systems, and protection distribution systems by reviewing installations, validating requirements, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and policy guidelines.
