You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 0318 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. See Required Documents for more information. To qualify for a Secretary (Office Automation) your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Experience: GS-5 - Assisting with timekeeping and payroll support duties, including checking basic entries for accuracy. - Completing routine personnel and payroll forms and ensuring all required supporting documents are included. - Preparing drafts of reports and general correspondence using standard office software such as word processors, spreadsheets, and email programs.
- Assisting with basic supply and inventory tasks, including maintaining simple logs and updating records for routine items. GS-6 - Processing and coordinating personnel and payroll actions, including reviewing new-hire paperwork and resolving discrepancies with human resources or payroll representatives. - Investigating and troubleshooting complex personnel, timekeeping, or payroll issues by reviewing system inputs, documentation, and established procedures.
- Preparing and assembling detailed reports and correspondence using multiple automated systems, including databases, spreadsheets, and graphic design tools. - Independently managing a supply or property accountability program, including maintaining records, coordinating equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with supply regulations. Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA.
