To qualify for this position of Secretary (OA) you must meet the qualification requirements listed below by the closing of this announcement: For GS-08: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience for this position includes experience performing secretarial/clerical tasks. Responding to inquiries and problems of a non-technical nature, maintaining a high-level supervisor's appointment calendar, screening calls and visitors, maintaining files and records, locating conference arrangements, and scheduling appointments and travel.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-07. For GS-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience for this position includes experience performing advanced secretarial/clerical tasks. Responding to inquiries and problems of a non-technical nature, exercising control over a high-level supervisor's appointment calendar, screening calls and visitors, creating and maintaining files and records, locating and summarizing conference arrangements, and scheduling appointments and travel.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-08. For GS-10: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience for this position includes independently performing advanced administrative and office management duties. This includes handling administrative inquiries; managing complex office operations and automated systems; exercising full control over a high-level supervisor's calendar; screening calls and visitors; preparing and reviewing correspondence using advanced software functions; coordinating conferences, meetings, and travel; and guiding clerical staff while recommending improvements to administrative procedures.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-09. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.
