RIVER AND HARBOR MAINTENANCE WORKER

About this role

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. To qualify for the XF-4701-08 position: Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a River and Harbor Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision.

Ability to perform simple maintenance on mechanical equipment on navigation locks and spillway structures in trades such as welding, rigging, carpentry, sheet metal work, concrete work, or electrical work. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To qualify for the XF-4701-10 position: Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a River and Harbor Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision.

Ability to perform common tasks including electrical and/or mechanical equipment repair in preventative maintenance of electrical and/or mechanical equipment of various structures in trades such as welding, rigging, carpentry, sheet metal work, concrete work, or electrical work. -Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: Work requires frequent standing, stooping, stretching, climbing and crouching.

Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Uses coordination of eyes, hand and feet, and also of legs and body in installing, repairing, or testing equipment in confined areas such as manholes. Climbs ladders and poles. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside during the day and at night, as required by emergencies, on high structures over water that is frequently turbulent, in the proximity of moving machinery and high tension electrical wires, and on scaffolds or slings.
