Experience Requirements: GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting one of the following: 1) Assist with project schedules, budgets, milestones, and/or work plans; 2) maintain project data in automated scheduling, financial, and/or project management systems; 3) assist in support of development of project management reports; 4) support the review of work plans, resource plans, and/or financial tracking activities; 5) track project progress and/or prepare reports or project documentation; and 6) review project information for accuracy and/or completeness.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting two of the following: 1) Assist with project scheduling, milestone tracking, and/or budget monitoring; 2) enter project cost, schedule, and/or progress data into automated systems; 3) monitor project progress and/or identifying schedule, funding, or workload issues; 4 prepare project status updates, reports, and/or other tracking documents; 5) assist with work plans, resource plans, and/or financial tracking activities; and 6) support the development of project management reports.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting three of the following: 1) Manage project schedules, budgets, scope, and/or milestone tracking for multiple projects; 2) review project cost, schedule, funding issues, and/or performance variances; 3) maintain project information in automated project or financial systems; 4) prepare project status reports for project managers, team members, and/or leadership; 5) resolve schedule, budget, and/or performance issues; and 6) support the development of reports, procedures, and/or process improvements related to project management or financial tracking.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree -in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting four of the following: 1) Manage project schedules, milestones, and/or execution activities for multiple or complex projects; 2) analyze project scope, cost, schedule, and/or budget data to identify trends or recommend corrective actions; 3) utilize automated project and/or financial systems to maintain and/or validate project data; 4) perform earned value analysis, baseline comparisons, and/or other methods to identify cost or schedule variances; 5) develop project reports, procedures, or business processes to monitor execution and/or support leadership decisions; and 6) manage project funding actions such as work items, resource plans, labor commitments, and/or cross-charge actions.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS). For GS-07: 52 weeks at the next lower grade level GS-05 For GS-09: 52 weeks at the next lower grade level GS-07 For GS-11: 52 weeks at the next lower grade level GS-09 For GS-12: 52 weeks at the next lower grade level GS-11
