Background The Project Management Team at CLEAR Global handles a wide range of exciting projects, including language services, voice data collection, research, and technology initiatives. One of the projects is the Language Technologies for Crisis Response (LT4CR) initiative, aiming to bridge the gap in language technology for under-resourced languages in crisis-prone regions. Objectives The main objective of this internship is to support the coordination of linguistic tasks in our translation management environment, as part of the LT4CR project.
This with the specific goal of corpus creation - creating a collection of text and questions in up to 5 languages that voice contributors will either respond to freely (spontaneous speech prompts) or read aloud (read speech prompts) to create the voice datasets that help train voice technologies in low-resource languages for crisis response use cases. The role The MIIS Project Management Intern - Corpus Creation will support with coordinating collaboration among different stakeholders, ensuring engagement, appropriate levels of expected output quality, and turnaround.
