GS-15 One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 level in Federal Service or equivalent responsibility in the private sector/pay systems equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform as a Program Manager: Experience leading large-scale modernization or transformation efforts that improve how an organization operates and delivers services; developing and carrying out long-term strategies, policies, or plans that guide major organizational changes across multiple teams or stakeholder groups, and advising senior leaders and coordinating complex work across organizations to resolve issues, set priorities, and achieve enterprise-wide improvement goals.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
