You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Applying expert knowledge of management principles, practices, policies, regulations, and procedures to support organizational operations and mission execution; 2) Developing budgets for natural disaster response and emergency management projects; 3) Managing natural disaster and/or emergency programs and projects critical to agency mission accomplishment; 4) Implementing policies related to emergency management operations, work authorizations, and funding processes; and 5) Resolving complex issues involving the design, funding, and execution of natural disaster and emergency management programs in coordination with agency officials, contractors, and customers.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
