Program Analyst (Data Analyst)
About this role
Specialized Experience: GS-12: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Evaluating operational or performance data to identify trends, data quality issues, or program impacts. Developing dashboards, reports, graphics, or data visualizations to support program monitoring and decision-making. Conducting qualitative or quantitative analyses to assess program effectiveness, efficiency, or performance.
Preparing written reports, memoranda, graphics, or technical documentation that communicate analytical results, data limitations, issues identified, and recommended improvements. GS-13: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Leading data analytics projects to assess program performance or operational effectiveness.
Developing analytical methods, dashboards, or reports to improve performance monitoring. Advising management on analytical findings, data quality issues, or corrective actions. Coordinating cross-office analytics efforts to resolve data issues or improve processes. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 09/22/2026.
