About this role

Conditions of Employment (Cont.) This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location.

Travel may include overnight stays. QUALIFICATIONS In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, series 0343. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems.

Examples of specialized experience includes Knowledge of USAF, NGB, and ANG program goals and objectives to include the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, methods of evaluating the effectiveness of readiness programs and impact to combat and non-combat operations, and the relationship of the various command entities involved in overall program planning and execution of military operations and evaluations.

Knowledge of USAF and NGB military command structure, missions, programs, organizational relationships, and program goals and objectives. Knowledge of DCAPES, DRRS, AF-IT, and all related reporting systems, to include the policy and technical application in preparing both resources and capability readiness reports. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.

One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. 2. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of a small staff, to negotiate to accept and implement recommendations where proposals involve substantial resources, and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures. Knowledge of DCAPES, DRRS, AF-IT, and all related reporting systems, to include the policy and technical application in preparing both resources and capability readiness reports.

3. Knowledge of USAF and ANG operations/maintenance/logistics expertise as it applies to readiness reporting, working knowledge of personnel, equipment, and training systems that form the basis of readiness reporting and the ability to ascertain the capabilities and measures of performance for ANG assigned missions. Knowledge of computing software, such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Microsoft TEAMS, to produce and develop presentations, briefs, and training material.

4. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of the readiness assessments program in the improvement of critical command plans and programs for conducting major operations and quantitative techniques to apply DoD, Joint, and Air Force management engineering principles, concepts and methodologies and financial management directives, concepts, procedures, guidance, and policy.

5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues effectively with other Directorates and senior management; and maintain good working relationships. Ability to prepare briefings and correspondence suitable for general officer consumption. Ability to brief general officers up to the 4-star level, Congressional, or Adjutant General Delegations. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
