About this role

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement:09/16/2026. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT: As a current Federal, GS employee you must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 level. If you are a current VBA employee requesting reassignment or change to lower grade via this vacancy announcement, you must currently hold the GS-13 or higher and the promotion potential of your current position must be at least None The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.

An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: You may qualify based on your experience as described below: GS-13 Grade Level: Specialized Experience: Is defined as possessing an expert knowledge of and skill in applying a wide range of concepts, approaches, practices, regulations, policies, precedents, and analytical, and procedures related to real estate, and home loan guidelines and regulations.

Examples of this include but not limited to: The incumbent will have experience in examining loan programs, collecting and verifying bank or mortgage loans, loss mitigation, claims/collections, property preservations, loan modification and servicing portfolio of banks or other loans associations, performing financial analysis of commercial concerns for investment purchases, appraising real estate to determine property valuation, and government policy, communication, leadership compliance, regulation, and training.

The incumbent should be able to audit and performing quality review/control of mortgage loans, analyzing data from various programs to underwrite a variety of mortgage loans, and making eligibility determination on a variety of loan types or grants, Meeting these needs that was earned at least within Loan Guaranty or another major mortgage guarantor/issuer. The ability to develop, adapt, and operationalize policies in the federal domain and to understand and support business line missions is necessary and manage projects and initiatives of complex activities with senior stakeholders.
