Remote
Product Manager II, Maps AI
About this role
Mapbox is the leading real-time location platform for a new generation of location-aware businesses. Mapbox is the only platform that equips organizations with the full set of tools to power the navigation of people, packages, and vehicles everywhere. More than 4 million registered developers have chosen Mapbox because of the platform’s flexibility, security and privacy compliance. Organizations use Mapbox applications, data, SDKs and APIs to create customized and immersive experiences that delight their customers.
WHAT WE DO Whether you’re ordering on DoorDash, navigating in a BMW, checking the forecast on The Weather Channel, or sending snaps on Snapchat, Mapbox powers the location experiences within the apps and products people use every day. As the developer platform for live location, we’re evolving how people interact with maps and location data, including bringing AI-powered capabilities into our products to create smarter, more dynamic experiences.
The Maps team builds services that reach approximately 750 million monthly active users, collecting ~318 million miles of location and navigation data per day. We help developers create and share maps that reflect the complexity of our ever-changing world and see exciting opportunities leveraging AI to make maps more intelligent, accessible, and powerful. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Product Manager II on the Maps team, you will own how AI shows up in Mapbox Maps: the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of AI-powered capabilities across the Maps (Web, iOS, Android), from natural-language map interaction to AI-assisted styling and contextual map intelligence.
You will partner with a globally distributed engineering team, external customers, and stakeholders across Sales, Engineering, Legal, Marketing, and Finance to explore emerging AI capabilities, translate customer needs into better product experiences, and ship solutions that drive customer success and business growth. You’ll bring an AI-forward mindset to both strategy and execution, turning new technologies into practical, scalable capabilities for developers and the end users they serve.
You can expect to: - Define and execute end-to-end vision and strategy for your product. - Conduct analysis to inform your product roadmap and prioritize product backlog. - Work with your engineering team(s) and the broader organization to explore and implement new use cases for your product that address customer pain points and unlock new revenue opportunities. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product goals and delivery phases with overall business objectives.
